Normally used for vehicle detection at four-quadrant gated crossings, the P-1400 has also been
used for over-point detection, detection of trains in dead sections and indication of approaching
trains.  This is one of the first applications where it was used as the primary means of train
detection at a rail crossing.

Isis was asked to take on the project after it was found that on-track detection circuits would not
work at the crossing due to short circuits through the crossing panels.  Isis recommended the
installation of loops and advised the customer through every step of the project.
